Committee Updates

- The Education & Involvement Committee is taking a break until the fall. All meetings and workshops, including the Joint Meeting of Committee Chairs and the New Member Education Workshop, are on hold until further notice.
- The Entertainment & Social Events Committee is meeting via GoToMeeting. They are currently looking into various options for Volunteer Appreciation since the dinner needed to be canceled. While the usual summer events are canceled for this year, they are hopeful that a Halloween event might still be possible.
- The Environment Committee is taking a break until the fall.
- The Newsletter Committee is meeting via GoToMeeting. They are planning a Summer issue of the Connections Newsletter and then will be taking a break until the fall.
- The Co-op Seniors Interests Committee will be taking a break until the fall. Unfortunately, there will not be a Seniors Social this year.
- The Finance Committee is meeting via GoToMeeting. Currently working on the draft budget for 2020-2021 Fiscal Year. They will be reviewing the Spending Policy and Contract Policy.
- The Honours & Awards Committee will not be meeting again until next year. With the approval of the SMHC Board of Directors, the committee opted to donate their budget of $6871.12 to the Calgary Food Bank. Given COVID-19 the committee felt that their budget could be used to help others during this challenging time.
- The Membership Committee is meeting via GoToMeeting. They are currently reviewing the member application process, specifically the waiting list process.
- The Property Enhancement Committee is meeting via GoToMeeting. They continue to review various policies and procedures.
- The Property Maintenance Committee is meeting via GoToMeeting. They continue to review various policies and procedures.
- Grievance Committee meets as required, and they have continued to check the Grievance Box on a regular basis.
- The Elections Committee typically starts meeting in the fall in preparation for Director Elections in January.
